Toploader

A toploader is a rigid, clear plastic holder that protects your cards from bending, warping, and corner damage. You slide the card in from the top (hence the name), and it sits snugly inside the hard shell.

Toploaders are the standard protection tier above penny sleeves. The typical workflow: sleeve the card first, then slide the sleeved card into a toploader. This combo provides excellent protection for storage, display, and shipping.

They come in different thicknesses to accommodate different card types — standard toploaders for regular cards, and thicker versions for relic cards, patch cards, and other cards with embedded materials. If you're shipping cards to a buyer or a grading company, toploaders are non-negotiable.
