An autograph card — or "auto" — is a card featuring a player's actual signature, either signed directly on the card (on-card auto) or on a sticker affixed to it (sticker auto). Autos are one of the most sought-after card types in the entire hobby.
Players sign these cards as part of agreements with manufacturers, and autos are inserted into packs at specific odds. Pulling an auto is always a rush, especially when it's a star player or a hot rookie prospect.
The value of an auto depends on the player, the product, the card design, whether it's on-card or sticker, and how limited the print run is. Numbered autos — especially low-numbered ones — can command serious money on the secondary market. For many collectors, autos are the ultimate chase.
